GMK Ltd (previously Gunmark until January 1998) is a privately owned enterprise which commenced trading in 1971. Continuously owned and managed by the Waktare family, the founder Mr Bjorn Waktare is still involved in the management team. In January 2006, Beretta, the major supplier to GMK, bought a 20% share of the company. The remaining 80% was transferred to Bear Holdings Ltd., a holding company that is 100% owned by the Waktare family.
GMK'™s objective is to establish the best range of guns and country sports accessories available in the UK. The company has been the leading UK shooting sports distributor for many years. Their product range includes brands which are the market leader in their particular field, and others which are produced by some of the best manufacturers in the world.
The brands that we exclusively represent in the UK include Beretta, Benelli, ATK, Sako, Leupold, Lanber, Franchi and a host of accessory suppliers from the UK and the rest of the world. All our suppliers have one thing in common, they produce products that offer the best in quality and value for money and we are therefore proud to represent them in the UK. Bear Holding Ltd is owned by the Waktare family members. It has two functions, firstly as a provider of services to GMK and LLC Ltd. Bear Holdings provides all the Marketing, Personel, Warehouse and accountancy functions for GMK and LLC Ltd. The second function is as a shareholding vehicle for GMK and LLC Ltd.
LLC Ltd
LLC Ltd came into being on 1st April 2002. It is the UK distributor for the Lafuma group. Lafuma S.A. of France is comprised of four brands; Lafuma, Le Chameau, Oxbow and Millet. LLC Ltd is a joint venture between Bear Holdings and Lafuma S.A. of France.
The Beretta Gallery, London
The London Gallery opened in December 2005 in the heart of the West End. It is a showcase store for the Beretta brand. Housed in an elegant building on St James'™s Street, two floors are dedicated to luxury Beretta clothing and accessories, while the third floor houses the finest gun room in London, exhibiting a full range of Beretta guns. The London Gallery is wholly owned by GMK Ltd.
